The Canberra Times Run Canberra returns on Sunday 1 November 2026, bringing thousands of people together for a morning of running through some of the capital’s most recognisable locations.
Run for something that matters
You can simply enter and enjoy the event, or choose a charity you care about and use your run to fundraise. It could be a local organisation, a cause connected to your family, or something you simply want to support.
Previously known as the Canberra Fun Run, the event includes four distances: the Runner’s World Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Dash. Courses take participants through central Canberra and past landmarks including Old and New Parliament House. The Half Marathon, 10K and 5K courses are AIMS-certified.
You don’t have to be chasing a personal best to take part. There are different distances for different ages, abilities and goals, making this an event individuals, families and groups can get involved in.
There is also an opportunity to make your run about something bigger.
Sole Motive supports participants to fundraise for a charity of their choice, giving runners the option to connect their training and event-day effort with a cause they care about. Across its events, Sole Motive says runners have raised more than $18 million for more than 450 charities since 2008.
The event village at Rond Terrace includes live entertainment, recovery facilities and event activities. Participants receive electronic timing, a finisher medal and on-course support.
