Youth Mental Health Investment - 06/06/2025
Young Canberrans will benefit from a $9.4 million boost to youth mental health services in the ACT Government’s 2025-26 Budget. This investment ensures continued access to early intervention, trauma-informed, and community-based care, helping young people get the right support at the right time—whether that’s in schools, online or in local settings. The funding aims to relieve pressure on the hospital system while helping children and teens thrive.
Programs receiving ongoing funding:
MindMap – a digital tool guiding families to real-time clinical and peer support.
Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) – suicide prevention education in ACT high schools.
WOKE – free DBT therapy groups for young people facing emotional distress.
Stepping Stones – trauma-informed care for children affected by family violence.
Youth Alliance – a collaborative network improving outcomes across youth mental health services.
