When people in Canberra need support, it can be hard to know where to start.
That might mean trying to find mental health support, food relief, housing advice, disability services, family support, carer support, grief support, or help navigating a system that feels bigger than the problem you already have.
Canberra is full of good people, good organisations and good services. But when life gets hard, knowing who to call, what to ask for, and what happens next is not always simple.
Purpose Media CBR is testing a new community engagement tool called CoDesign Compass, and we would love your help.
Share Your Thoughts Here
We are inviting Canberrans to respond to one simple statement:
When people in Canberra need support, it can be hard to know where to start.
You can agree, disagree, or share your own experience of what makes finding help easier or harder.
Your response will help us understand the real barriers people face when they are trying to access support. It will also help us identify what kind of information, pathways and local stories could make service navigation feel more human, practical and trusted.
As a small thank you for sharing your lived experience, participants can opt in to receive a $10 grocery voucher. If you do not need the voucher, the amount will be donated to Purpose Media CBR’s charity of the month.
This activity is voluntary, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. We ask that you avoid including identifying details about yourself or others.
The insights gathered may be used to create future Purpose Media CBR resources, such as a plain-language support pathway, community article, service navigation guide or social media explainer.
This is not about creating another directory. It is about understanding what people actually need when they are overwhelmed, unsure, or trying to help someone they care about.
Because finding support should not feel like another thing you have to survive.
